We all know that President Donald Trump isn’t a man who easily backs down. He has proved time and time again that he is willing to take drastic measures to ensure the safety of Americans.
While we all know that the blue state of California has become a self-proclaimed “sanctuary state,” there are other major issues taking place within the state, and the President has about had it.
Now, Trump has explained that the liberal sanctuary state of California will see consequences if they continue to break federal law. He has officially threatened to take away the blue state’s federal aid, just as he has threatened Mexico, Honduras, and El Salvador with the same fate.
It was just last week that the President publicly threatened to pull aid from the Central Americans countries who would not make any effort to turn the migrant caravan around, which is heading right toward the United States… with the full intention of entering illegally.
“We have today informed the countries of Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador that if they allow their citizens, or others, to journey through their borders and up to the United States, with the intention of entering our country illegally, all payments made to them will STOP,” Trump wrote in a tweet.
While the caravan was not stopped, the President stood firm on his original statement.
On Monday, the President tweeted, “Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador were not able to do the job of stopping people from leaving their country and coming illegally to the U.S. We will now begin cutting off, or substantially reducing, the massive foreign aid routinely given to them.”
Trump has issued the same statement to California, however, this time it doesn’t have to do with illegal immigration.
Trump spoke at the White House’s State Leadership Conference this past Tuesday. During his speech, he mentioned California’s horrific mismanagement of its forests, which has consequently ended in massive, destructive forest fires.
“We’re tired of giving California hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars all the time for their forest fires, when you wouldn’t have them if they managed their forests properly,” Trump said.
Trump went on to talk about how environmentalists are stopping proper management.
“And the environmentalists are, you know, doing something very bad. They won’t let us take the logs. They won’t let us take the dead trees. It’s all a mess,” Trump said.
This is a problem the Trump administration has talked about in the past.
Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke criticized “environmentalist terrorist groups” in August.
“We have been held hostage by these environmental terrorist groups that have not allowed public access — that have refused to allow (the) harvest of timber,” Zinke explained to Breitbart.
The President said that the blue state is at risk for losing federal aid if they don’t begin to manage their forests.
“So, California, get on the ball. Because we’re not going to hand you any more money. It’s ridiculous, OK?” Trump demanded.
